Today is not about any recipes, or tips, or tricks. Today is simply about my husband. It is his birthday, we have nothing planned besides binge watching our shows and walking the dog. Shockingly, we don’t even have any fabulous birthday food planned for the day. Sometimes, no plan is necessary and you just gotta go with the flow.

While my husband is sleeping in this lovely sunny birthday morning, I would like to take some time to simply tell everyone how amazing he is. I get to wake up every morning with a smile on my face, knowing that I got to marry the love of my life. Of course, any relationship has it’s ups and downs…thankfully ours is mostly ups. A key to this?? My husband always fully communicates with me. That is one of my down falls and that might just be because I am a woman. I never tend to say what I truly want but man does he drag it out of me!

Juan is my better half. He knows me, he really took the time to understand how I work, how I feel, and to predict the emotions I will feel day to day. Which has come a long way from our first date when he thought it was sexy to order for me at dinner…You do not order food for a “foodie.” He learned quickly to never do that again. Any who, something we share together is EATING. Who doesn’t love a good home cooked meal? I love cooking for him, he eats anything! My favorite thing to cook for him? Honestly I can’t even answer that.  To me, creating something from scratch and serving it up all pretty is my kind of definition of love.

There are days when I make breakfast, lunch, snacks, dinner, AND dessert. Cooking brings me joy and cooking for the man I love brings me peace and happiness. I know it sounds silly…but to me preparing a meal for me really is a staple of love. He appreciates all the time I spend in the kitchen. He chit-chats with me about my day as I’m preparing dinner. He always tells me how delicious the meal was during and he always thanks me after….AND does the dishes. Can you say “jack pot?” I’m the lucky one!

This love we have created together is truly special. We have a bond created by food and the time we have together eating it. We may have crazy schedules but at the end of the night we have each other. What more could you ask for?

He is the love of my life, my knight in shining armor, my prince charming, AND my favorite person to cook for. Happy Saturday everyone, go prepare something for someone you love. 🙂
