When I am feeling nostalgic or wanting comfort food, freezer finds are always my go-to.
Everything is in my freezer. Pasta sauces, soups, meat, homemade pizzas, vegetables, fruits, TEQUILA, my list goes on… I am a huge fan of not wasting food so if I am not going to eat something before it’s prime, it gets prepped for the freezer in some form or another.
I don’t care how old you are, you are NEVER too old for a good ole batch of chicken nuggets from the freezer. Yes I could make my own, but sometimes I just don’t want to cook, ya feel me?
I am an adult but who can turn down a nugget?
I found my bag of nuggets in the freezer and wanted to make them into a full meal that made them fun to eat and a little bit more elevated!
Eating like a child…in grownup form? Yes. Serve with a cocktail and you’re the best adult you can be!
My “elevated” nugget dish was super simple and I forgot I was eating a frozen food.
All I did was bake my regular chicken nuggets with a marinade that I had in my refrigerator. BONUS, I finally used up that bottle that has been sitting in the fridge for God knows how long. The marinade was Asian, like a honey garlic glaze stir fry sauce. Can’t go wrong.
I baked the chicken nuggets according to their package and as they cooked I just sautéd veggies. I used broccoli, cherry tomatoes, onion, and zucchini. To tie the dish together, I added a little spoonful of the stir fry sauce to lightly coat the vegetables along with a dash of sesame oil. When the vegetables were tender, I plated them up alongside my baked nuggets. The chicken nuggets were amazing since they baked WITH the marinade or whatever the heck that bottle of deliciousness was. It was, I’m sure, full of sugar which made the chicken super crispy and perfectly crunchy. I am super sad right now that all the nuggets have been used up.

I would imagine these frozen nuggets could take you in many delicious directions and I hope your culinary desires will find you the perfect map into your freezer and lead you to the perfect dinner plate destination.
